About the NH Jr. Monarchs
The first five years since the birth of the NH Jr. Monarchs Youth Hockey Organization, have been dedicated to building a youth hockey program in the central NH area which focuses on player development. We have taken a hard line on our approach toward player development and accommodating parents concerns regarding practical and consistent ice times. Since its conception, the NH Jr. Monarchs philosophy is to provide a program that best meets the needs of area youth in developing their hockey skills. We have built a hockey program for the player that wants to get the most out of practices and games. The NH Jr. Monarchs organization is a youth hockey organization for the SELECT hockey player. We look for the best players to make a commitment to getting even better.
Our Power Skating and Conditioning ice sessions along with regular Skills Development sessions are run by professionals; College coaches, Prep School coaches and Junior Hockey coaches. We offer two or more hours of ice time a week and the commitment to consistent practice schedules, days and times. The development that your child will show over the course of the season as a result of being in the NH Jr. Monarchs Youth Hockey Organization is overwhelming.
Our season starts mid August and runs through mid March. Our teams are encouraged to participate in high-level tournaments to be determined by the individual teams and coaches. All but our Midget Major teams are participants in the Granite State Hockey League (GSL) and will play 14-20 games in this league. Our Squirt, Peewee and Bantam teams at the Minor and Major level will also play 20-36 games in the New England Hockey League (NEHL).The Peewee and Bantam AA teams also play in the Seacoast Hockey League (SCL) and will play 10-20 games in this league. We feel that the combinations of these leagues fit our philosophy. The Granite State Hockey League (GSL) enables our teams to participate in STATE, REGIONAL and NATIONAL playoffs. The 2003-2004 season was our first year in the New England Hockey League (NEHL). This league has proven to be the most competitive birth year league for the NH Jr. Monarchs program. We anticipate in the years to come that this league will grow with talent and develop into one of the premier leagues in the northeast. Likewise, the Seacoast Hockey League (SCL) is a quality league, which offers us the diversity to play other quality programs by expanding the territory.
